Special Wedding Anniversaries

In each of the following listings, the person directly related to the ENGEL family is listed first, followed by his or her spouse. This is followed by their respective Serial Numbers, and the page number in The Engel Family book on which they appear. The last number in the row is the wedding date in the YYMMDD format.

Before listing recent Golden Anniversaries, there are some special anniversaries that we need to celebrate first. Foremost among these is the couple who celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2001, the longest continous marriage in our family, as far as I know. (They and their family is featured on page 72 of The Engel Family book.) Szloimo Engel married Chaja Shocket in 1926 and last resided in Kfar Saba, Israel. Szloimo was a retired journalist and was well known as the founder and long-time editor of Dabar. Dabar was for many years one of Israel's most influential daily newspapers. Sadly, we now have to report that Szloimo died peacefully on the 14th May, 2002, followed by his faithful wife on 17 July, 2002.
